About Me
I am a PhD student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where my research focuses on the development and application of quantitative methods to answer questions in environmental and population health. I am particular interested in causal inference, spatial statistics, and environmental epidemiology, with current work examining how environmental exposures influence pregnancy, early human development, and chronic disease.
My research spans several areas of environmental health, including the effects of modifiable environmental exposures during pregnancy, the relationship between residential radon exposure and cancers of the brain and central nervous system, and the characterization of community noise in urban environments.
Prior to beginning my PhD, I worked as a consulting biostatistician with Samaritan Health Services. There, I contributed to a variety of healthcare and public health research projects, including the development of privacy-preserving record linkage methods to integrate electronic health records with data from community organizations.
I earned a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, a Master of Science in Data Analytics, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Oregon State University. My interdisciplinary training in statistics, epidemiology, data science, and economics continues to shape my approach to applied biostatistical research.
Outside of research, I enjoy golf, strength training, cooking, crossword puzzles, and spending time outdoors.
